Appearance

Like most Rulers, the Steel King has no known race or appearance. The only notable features that have been confirmed and spread across the continent are three things; the Crown of Flames, his aged beard, and his piercing grey eyes.

Accounts from the last time the Steel King made a public appearance, back during the last Great War, claim that out of the battlefield, the Steel King’s presence was so commanding that “if were he to ask the very stones themselves to fight his wars for him, they would roll themselves onto their enemies.” Whether that is true is still up for debate. While still insanely powerful by all accounts, he is described as being a “smoldering flame” out of battle, as if he were ready to become the avatar of War and Death at any moment.

As for during war-time, the difference is drastic according to one of the few remaining accounts of the last Great War that dates back two centuries ago.

Quote

And there he was, our Lord of War. Our Avatar of Death and Carnage. His eyes were blazing infernos of many colors, each one so vivid one can be lost in them. No longer was his form like a shadow, half-formed and undecided, but now it was the most perfect representation of a soldier, a general. One glance would show a Human in the prime of his life, a blink would reveal that he was an Orc of ancient age, wise beyond his years. Everchanging, yet staying true to the one idea that best represented my Liege.

War.

Personality

Not much is known beside the fact that the Steel King is apparently short of temper.

Background

Nothing is known of his life before assuming the throne as Steel King. His true name is not known, yet he has many titles that he has earned as a result of his actions and conquests throughout the many years since [the Sundering]([The Sundering]).

The earliest known reference to the Steel King can be found in the book Deepest Histories, as one of the four beings that engaged in great battle at the center of the world, where the Sapphire Isles are. From the missing sections of the passages, there is no conclusive information on how he came to be. There are many theories revolving around his origin. A popular theory is one that suggests that he used to be mortal, but through mysterious circumstances, rose in power until he became the Ruler that he is today. Another is that he has always been here since the dawn of time, always just below the gods yet above mere Humans and Orcs. Another theory proposes that he may be a god himself, come to Sira to lead his chosen people. The Steel King has neither confirmed nor denied any of the above.

The Steel King has personally participated in five intercontinental wars, as well as five Great Wars, making him the Ruler with the most wars to his name.

The Sundering (1 P.S.): The Steel King was one of the four combatants in the Sundering, which decided the fate of the world. He was third to fall, defeated by the Bronze Leader.

Possessions

The Steel King has few things that he truly possesses in a personal way not related to his kingdom, but those few are quite powerful. He has a crown, christened “The Crown of Flames”. It is a crown that is made of pure steel, shaped like an inverted king’s crown, the protrusions extending downwards over his face rather than up from his head. In each protrusion a gem of different color is embedded. When there is no light source nearby, the gems provide a strong light, as if there was a fire in them that blazed brightly.

Another possession of the Steel King’s is his Weapon of War. Much like himself, this object’s form changes constantly and never stays in any one shape. It can be a spear, or it can be a mace. It could turn to a war scythe, or a broad sword. It might even turn into a ranged weapon. Whatever the weapon, it always looks to be made of a mix of steel and gold, perfectly forged. The Steel King is reportedly proficient in many, if not all, weapons, but his preferred weapon seems to be a halberd.

Abilities

The Steel King, as an immortal Ruler of near infinite power, naturally has quite a few powerful abilities. The following are the ones we know of:

Perfected Tactical Mind

The Steel King is a monster in battle for his sheer martial prowess alone, but to assume him an unthinking brute would be a fatal underestimation of his power. His mind can think in ways that bewilder the best of mortal strategists, utilizing tactics that could decide any battle in his favor. His only match is the Brass Emperor.

Army of the King

When the Steel King goes to war, all the soldiers he leads are transformed into more efficient men of war. They fight with more skill, power and coordination. Their instincts are honed, linked to one another and to the King like one mind.

Royal Armaments

The Steel King can increase the quality of any object or weapon he holds to one that befits his station, turning a weapon of poor quality into something worthy of being called a King’s Weapon.

Immortality and Invincibility

The Steel King cannot die, whether by age or wound or illness.
